It’s not too late for qualified students to apply for Wonderworks Houston’s college-level creative workshops this summer, with a May 5 deadline deadline extended to June 5! Dubbed “Five Cures for the Summertime Blues,” the program runs June 16 – July 18 and is open to Houston-area students in public or private schools entering 10th – 12th grades or those who will graduate from high school before summer begins. Admission to all programs is competitive and based on grades, standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT) and teacher/counselor recommendations. Scholarships, in the form of tuition waivers, are available to those who demonstrate need.

By exploring challenging subject matter and techniques in a relaxed college setting led by University of Houston and Rice University instructors, students acquire skills, information, outlooks and connections that significantly broaden their cultural and academic experiences. In the process, they become better-qualified college applicants poised to succeed in undergraduate studies. Course offerings are available in Architecture (“By Design”); Film (“Moving Pictures”); Art (“Closer Looks”) and Literature “(Stranger than Fiction” and “Story Lines”). To download an application, go to www.wonderworkshouston.org or call 713-301-4882 to learn more.

You are well on your way HISD scholar!
