Furr HS Environmental Communications Pathway Students present to MD Anderson

Posted on

Students from Furr High School’s Environmental Communications Pathway collaborated with MD Anderson, to develop an anti-smoking curriculum called ASPIRE. The students presented their project before a panel of physicians and district representatives from the State of Texas, and were invited to participate in an information meeting alongside the doctors. MD Anderson serves as one of the campus’ industry partners, and with their support, students in this career pathway use the information from ASPIRE, connecting it to content areas such as Biology and English.

Before the semester ends, the students will complete a capstone project, creating a public service announcement in the form of a video or comic book.
