Meet Dana Carmouche, passionate, lifelong educator and Linked Learning Manager for the HISD Office of College & Career Readiness. Dana has 17+ years of experience as a CTE instructor, coach, and administrator. She comes to us from American General, where she worked as a Marketing Analyst, and before that, Halliburton, where she served as an administrative assistant in the Land Department. Dana works hard to ensure that there is equity in the quality of education each HISD student receives, coupled with access to viable opportunities—in fact, Dana has also worked as an Adjunct Business Technology Professor at Houston Community College since 2008!
I want every HISD student to know what they’re walking into—that means providing relevant work experiences so they’re prepared to enter an ever-changing workforce, designing instructional environments that significantly improve learning through WBL and PBL.
Dana supports Linked Learning efforts at 11 different high school campuses, including: Chavez, Wisdom, Heights, Sterling, Austin, Houston MSTC, Worthing, Yates, Madison, Kashmere, and North Forest. She facilitates Community of Practice meetings, PLCs, and ensures that personalized learning environments are designed to meet student/teacher needs.
Dana received her dual-undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in Marketing and Management. She also earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas Southern University, and an MBA from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
